Sherlene Mattingly Harrison

Sherlene Mattingly Harrison, 95, formerly of Owensboro passed away on Sunday, February 25 2024 in Roswell, Georgia. Sherlene was born in Owensboro to the late William Sherman Mattingly and Mary Elizabeth Evans Mattingly. She was a lifelong member of Buena Vista Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and served on various committees. Sherlene was a graduate of Owensboro High School, attended University of Kentucky and served on the Owensboro Board of Education.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Louis (Buddy) Harrison.

Survivors include her daughter Lynn Harrison Doering and son-in-law John (Jack) Doering Alpharetta, GA; granddaughters, Julie Prefontaine (Korey) of Dunwoody GA and Jennifer Kelly of Johnston, SC; three great-grandchildren, Grace Kelly, Hannah Kelly, and Jack Prefontaine; brother, Charles E.(Buzz) Mattingly; nephew, McKay Mattingly; and nieces, Chara Hutzell, Madison (Missy) Schumacher and Amelia (Ame)Sweetall.

Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
