Michael Thompson

Michael Stanford Thompson, 71, of Owensboro, passed away July 31, 2018, at Owensboro Heath Regional Hospital. He was born October 25, 1946, in Owensboro to the late Sherman Patrick Thompson and Elsie M. Allison Tipton. He retired from Unilever as a forklift operator. He enjoyed fishing, watching basketball and Monday Night Raw. He was proud to be in the military where he served in the U.S. Navy.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sherlene Weeks.

Surviving are his wife Elaine Thompson; his children, Pat (Mary) Thompson, Robert (Lori) Thompson, Darrell Maysey, Tammy Maysey, Kim (Yates) Roberts, DeeDee (Roy) Dennis; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Debbie (Larry) Matlock, and brother, Steve (Tonya) Thompson.

Services will be at noon Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
