Lucille Roach, 90, Kokomo, passed away at 11:30 am Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Century Villa in Greentown. She was born August 29, 1928, in St. Joseph, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Oney W. Jennings & Mary Ivy (Ward) Jennings. On December 21, 1946, she married Charles Roach who preceded her in death on January 19, 1959.
Lucille was a hard worker, working up until the age of 82. She had been employed by General Electric, J.C. Penny’s, and had worked in home health care. Lucille was a member of First Assembly of God, and enjoyed traveling.
Lucille is survived by her children, Carroll (Dianne) Roach, Peru, and Sheila (Bob) Harrison, Kokomo; grandchildren, Shanna Hughes, Christi (Pete) Watson, Brett (Denise) Roach, and Mark (Renee) Roach; great-grandchildren, Danielle (Justin) Norman, Gabrielle Adams, Lauren Roach, Mackenzie (Jacob) Hawkins, Annie and Katie Watson, Sara and Rachel Hughes, Matt Roach, Jeremy Roach, and Charlie Watson; great-great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Michael, Dakota, and Charleigh.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Susie Weaver, Iona Jennings, LD Jennings and Tommy Jennings.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Charles Penton officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Central time, Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro, Kentucky. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Lucille’s memory to Great Lakes Hospice.
