Ione Rice

Ione Rice, 84, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was born on July 5, 1939 to the late Maitland and Opal Hammond Rice. She was a retired as a LPN after 40 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Merle Powell; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Rice.

Survivors include two daughters, Beth Berry (Bob) and Jane Dunn (Victor); two sons, Joe Hardy (Janet) and Bill Hardy; grandchildren, Nathan Berry (Carrie), Andrew Berry (Viki), Elliot Berry (Michelle), Jared Dunn (Stephanie), Jacob Dunn (Kim), Jessica Riedesel (Kalum), Katharine Nordhagen (Matt), and Dawn Hardy; several great-grandchildren; twin brother, Maitland Rice, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
